Material
Retainer made of Aluminum alloy 6082 T6 is a medium strength alloy with excellent corrosion resistance. It has the highest strength of the 6000 series alloys. Applications of 6082 is typically used in: Highly stressed applications, Trusses, Bridges, Cranes, Transport applications, Ore skips.
Experience the power of Aluminium 6082 T6 material with its exceptional properties. It's like having a superhero in your hands.
Coating , E-tech (endurance technology)
The ready machined parts goes through electrochemical anodization process to improve the durability of the aluminium alloy , after which color is added for aesthetics.

OEM retainer failure!
The idea behind this solution is quite simple and very effective.
Indeed the area where the aluminium retainer is , is very oily and dirty thus no glue will be effective at all. Hence a thread locking glue won't be effective ,but the solution to make it 99.9% effective is very simple. Clean the threads with degreasing detergent and wipe to provide proper surface for application of glue. The idea behind the thread locking glue is to increase the friction force between the threads so it won't loosen.
Another thing is that the shaft is turning counterclockwise and the M8 bolt is clockwise. Which is great, because the different ways of turning makes the M8 bolt to self-tightening.
Let's take a look at the sprocket wheel. In order to fit perfectly the tolerance between the slots should allow easy install. The gap should be very small just enough to slide the sprocket wheel. When accelerating and decelerating the movement of the sprocket wheel will be very very very small radial movement.
The sprocket retainer can't stop the small radial movements, the purpose is to hold the wheel where it is supposed to be aligned. Adding thread locking glue after the threads are well clean is to secure the bolt from loose even though the counter clock turning of the shaft helps for self-tightening M8 bolt.
